CONSTRUCTORS COMPETITION
Tropies were won by Robert M0PIE, Geof M0OYZ, and the Antenna Prize by Richard M0RBG.Picture shows the presentation by the Chairman of the G3XSY Trophy presented in memory of Trevor Butterfield - A keen constructor and one of the founder members of our society - who was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident while still in his 20s.
The other trophy was a QRP? transmitting valve!
CHRISTMAS PARTY
On behalf of all the members who went along to the DDARS Christmas Party last night a big “thank you” to Gerald and Denise for arranging such an enjoyable evening. We had party games, a quiz, prizes and a fabulous supper provided by Jim (YDL) and Brian (GDJ) I suspect their XYL’s might have had something to do with it as well, so thank you to them too.
In all 17 members rounded off what has been a busy year for the club and as I have been completing the Club of the Year application I have been pleasantly surprised at just how many events we have actually taken part in. From Tunnel End, Honley Show, Mills on the Air, Golcar Lily Day, Jamboree on the Air to the many guest speakers who have come along to the Pie Hall to entertain us all. On top of this the contest station at Cartworth Moor is now complete with our 60ft tower and HF and VHF beams and this has been used for quite a few contests this past few months. So a big thank you to everyone who has taken part in all the events and activities this past year, next year is our 40th Anniversary so we all look forward to making 2012 extra special.

Denby Dale Amateur Radio Society was founded nearly 40 years ago at the Pie Hall, Denby Dale, a village famous since 1788 for giant pies.
Meetings are in a first-floor room or the ground-floor hall, which has disabled access.
We meet on the first and third Wednesdays in the month for an 8pm start.
On the other Wednesdays, we often gather around 8pm for a night on the air, (the details will be in the whats on section of the website).
Our Sunday net is at 10.30am.on 145.575MHz.fm
We compete in contests, arrange special events and offer training for all levels of the amateur radio licence.
